The Australian National Maritime Museum
The Australian National Maritime Museum offers Sensory-Friendly Days on select dates each month. New exhibitions and activity areas are open early or late for a quieter, more accessible experience, tailored for autistic visitors and those with diverse abilities.
Our Sunflower trained staff and volunteers will be available to support access and guide creative activities: https://www.sea.museum/en/whats-on/events/sensory-friendly-days
Sensory Backpacks are a free borrowable resource available at the front desk. Our sensory backpacks include a range of tools that can be used to both stimulate and calm the sensory system to make visits to the museum more enjoyable.
We also offer sensory-friendly sessions of any temporary performance programs we run during school holiday times. These are released seasonally when available.
