Volleyball WA is a not for profit organisation, run under the auspices of the Australian Volleyball Federation, who are sanctioned by the Federation Internatoinale de Volleyball (FIVB).

In my role as Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator at VWA, I am the lead of some of our inclusive programs and initiatives. Volleyball is a sport which can be played by anyone and almost anywhere!

Volleyball WA and its Affiliates are making the game accessible to all, running several programs for seniors and people with disability. Our Adaptive Volley program is for people with disability of all ages. The sessions are run by fully accredited Volleyball WA coaches, promoting physical activity and encouraging involvement in a fun, inclusive team environment.

Adaptive Volley is a form of volleyball where the equipment and rules have been modified to enable participants of all abilities to participate in the sport. These adaptations include a modified net, a smaller court area, a variety of balls (softer, lighter) for new players to be confident in acquiring skills, and rule modifications.
