Week 3: Food and Fun

MONDAY 20TH JANUARY: SILLY FOOD PLAY SPAGHETTI DAY

Morning: Squish in buckets of tomatoes with your hands or feet and learn how to
make fresh spaghetti pasta.

Afternoon: Cooking Class for a traditional spaghetti bolognaise and enjoying the
results on a long table with friends

TUESDAY 21ST JANUARY: CULTURAL CUISINE

Morning: Enjoy cooking or tasting foods from different cultures with a focus on
sensory experiences (smell, touch, taste)

Afternoon: Staff and Participants are encouraged to bring a story, recipe or object
that represents their heritage and invited to share personal cultural backgrounds,
family traditions or special items from home.

WEDNESDAY 22ND JANUARY: FARM TO TABLE

Morning: Visit the farmers markets for an amazing array of fresh and quality foods
and stay to meet the people who grow the crops, bake the breads and put love and
care into the food they sell. At the Entertainment Quarters in Moore Park

Afternoon: Spend time tending to our veggie garden and chicken coop back at the
Together2 homebase, playing farmers for the afternoon.

THURSDAY 23RD JANUARY: INTERNATIONAL MUSIC, MOVIES AND STORY MAPPING

Morning: Explore traditional music from different countries with adaptable dance
moves and gentle movements.

Afternoon: Interactive Story Mapping. Create a masterpiece original artwork or
storyline with 3D illustrations, and sensory short films with relatable narratives on
other cultures that are screened in the cinema room.

FRIDAY 24TH JANUARY: CHINESE GARDEN OF FRIENDSHIP

Morning: Catch public transport to an excursion in Darling Harbour and have tea
in the Chinese garden of friendship and feel the spark of Lunar New Year
celebrations.

Afternoon: DIY paper lanterns in the art room at Rozelle

Where: ZigZag Centre – 754 Darling Street, Rozelle

When: 9:30am-3:30pm

How to get there: Drop off and pickup services can be arranged
with us, with notice. Other options include: public transport via
bus or have your carer support you.

What to bring: A packed lunch or provisions to buy depending
on the outing for the day, a change of clothes, bottle of water,
hat, towel, companion card, communication items and any
personalised support requirements including medications.

What we need: Signed service agreement and corresponding
forms returned before start date. Ticked outing cost to be paid
when booking dates.
What we promise: Comprehensive and personalised staff
training on each individual before commencing services,
sun safe practises, good times
