Week 2: Community and Connection
MONDAY 13TH JANUARY: LOCAL HERO DAY
Morning: Visit the local fire stations in Balmain. Meet the local heroes and learn
about safety from the best of the best.
Afternoon: Role Play activities in together2’s large hall space. Dress up and act as
different community helpers.
TUESDAY 14TH JANUARY: MOVIE MAGIC
Morning: Cinema outing to Palace Cinemas in Leichhardt via Public Transport. An
accessible and sensory friendly cinema. Film TBA closer to release date.
Afternoon: Continue the theme with Pop Culture Trivia and a Secondary Movie in
our Cinema room
WEDNESDAY 15TH JANUARY: ‘THE PATCH’
Morning: Explore and experience the sights, sounds and smells of our beautiful
Community Garden. Collect herbs to keep and to use for our cooking class next
week.
Afternoon: Afternoon tea and playing along with percussion instruments on the
lawn to everyone’s favourite songs. Meet and befriend our very own chickens.
Spend time with them, feeding them, giving water and collecting any eggs.
THURSDAY 16TH JANUARY: DOWNTOWN AND DIRTY RED
Morning: Visit a local café for brunch today then hit up the shops to meet some
locals.
Afternoon: Catch a Ferry to Barangaroo and admire the view and a tasty gelato
from Riverina gelato.
FRIDAY 17TH JANUARY: HOST A TEA PARTY
Morning: Set up a garden tea party for the Good in the Hood Volunteers and our
community. Baking, and creating ambiance.
Afternoon: Garden Tea Party with the Good in the Hood volunteers and together2
staff. Invite your family, friends and carers to join us in the patch from 1pm
Where: ZigZag Centre – 754 Darling Street, Rozelle
When: 9:30am-3:30pm
How to get there: Drop off and pickup services can be arranged
with us, with notice. Other options include: public transport via
bus or have your carer support you.
What to bring: A packed lunch or provisions to buy depending
on the outing for the day, a change of clothes, bottle of water,
hat, towel, companion card, communication items and any
personalised support requirements including medications.
What we need: Signed service agreement and corresponding
forms returned before start date. Ticked outing cost to be paid
when booking dates.
What we promise: Comprehensive and personalised staff
training on each individual before commencing services,
sun safe practises, good times
