Everything you need to know
In small, supportive groups supported by a Registered Music Therapist, participants can engage in a range of musical activities to support social connection, social skills development, emotional skills and improved confidence. Musical activities can include playing instruments, singing, musical games, musical role play, sharing favourite songs and group songwriting.
Music therapy offers a fun and accessible way to connect with peers in a supportive space. Each session is structured to provide a balance of predictability and novelty, and groups are intentionally small to ensure all participants’ needs and preferences are met. Each session follows the following structure: Hello song, musical warm-up, participants take turns to select a musical activity (including playing instruments, music-listening, art-making, musical games, and movement), reflection, goodbye song.
These groups are tailored to support the needs of participants, with limited numbers in each group (up to six people per group).
