Everything you need to know

Mai-Wel’s Creative Connections supports are spread across three key areas:

  1. Creative Arts – immerse yourself in the art-world that exists across Maitland and the wider Hunter Region. With our very own art studio and a close partnership with local galleries, you will be surrounded by inspiring artistic individuals and opportunities when taking part in one of our creative arts programs. Some activities you can take part in may include music, visual arts, performing, creative writing and 1:1 music mentoring, and more.
  2. Social & Community – heading out to the community in groups, you will get a chance to take part in much loved activities and to make a new friends and have fun. This is a fantastic way to build confidence and skills to get out and uncover all our local community has to offer. Some examples of activities include social groups with your peers, getting involved in the community garden, going to see a movie, swimming and exploring the community.
  3. Skill Building – if there is a specific area or skill you want to improve in, we can support you with a range of goal-based programs of support and . We can mould your supports to meet your needs and support you to achieve your specific goals. These supports are about increasing your confidence, discovering new strengths and exploring different activities all with the aim of bettering your independence.

Our purpose-built centre on John Street hosts a host of the skill-building and leisure activities. The site is fitted out with kitchen and craft spaces, high care rooms, facililties and spaced and sensory rooms and spaces built in 2020.
