Everything you need to know
The Good Life Farm is located on the outskirts of Melbourne in the Yarra Valley and provides unique Life & Social Skills programs for vulnerable young people between the ages of 7 and 17.
These programs are based on trauma informed practice and attachment theory research and have been developed to support, nurture and assist our most vulnerable and disengaged children & youth.
The program has been successful in reducing a number of challenges such as anxiety, extreme oppositional behaviour, school refusal, over sexualisation, bullying and aggressive behaviour.
This program also assists young people with challenges in life such as social isolation, interaction, and communication, focusing on relationship building and ultimately forming the skills required to participate actively within community.
Our standard program is one day per week throughout the Victorian school term – generally 10 weeks in duration from 9.30am – 1.30pm, on location at The Good Life Farm – 568 Chum Creek Rd, Chum Creek.
Group sizes are generally no larger than 6 – 8 young people, and these groups are structured in such a way that young people with similar backgrounds or challenges are placed together which assists with relationship building & ultimately skills to form a community.
Attached are some documents providing additional information, please don’t hesitate to email back at any time with queries you may have.
Prior to commencing a program, we would request that the young person visit The Farm with a parent or a care giver for a short (approx. 1/4 hour) meeting with Lesley or a Senior Youth Worker to familiarize with surroundings and ask any questions that either party may have.
This meeting is without obligation and will provide an insight to our programs prior to making a commitment.
