Everything you need to know
It takes one to know one.
Perspective taking is essential to helping a gamer regulate themselves better.
Mentoring is ultimately about personal growth and developing resilience for gamers. By building self awareness, we can help our clients find more fulfilment in the real world, while still enjoying a healthy relationship with gaming. Our approach applies some aspects of Motivational Interviewing techniques blended with GameAware methodology.
1on1 Mentoring is the ideal way to focus on one gamer with undivided attention.
Parents do play a role in this process as well as we get everyone on the same page, and they will receive the parent course as part of our process.
Our 1on1 Mentoring Sessions Include:
– Approx 60min sessions in Discord and sometimes in game.
– Reframing gaming to be more hobby less habit.
– Discussing life perspective, mental health and resilience.
– Goal setting and intelligent gaming strategies to empower the family.
– We liaise with other mental health professionals as part of a care team approach when possible.
– Working closely with parents to ensure the family speaks the same language.
