Not your typical day program!

Through Avenue Social, you can access the events and activities you choose, build important skills and make friends for life! The Avenue Social calendar is put together with the help of you – our participants. Our support workers get to know you and understand your likes, dislikes and needs to make sure you have a great day. In any given week, you might go for a trip outdoors in the fresh air, take an exercise or music class, head to sporting, musical or cultural events, or enjoy adding new things to the calendar.

Learning and skill development

Everyone at Avenue has an individual skill development plan. Avenue support workers are specially trained to spot opportunities to develop your skills and integrate learning into the day’s activities. Some of the skills our participants choose to focus on include independence, confidence, money-handling, communication, and road safety awareness.

After a day at Avenue Social, participants leave feeling more skilled, more equipped, and more empowered than before.

Community-based & fully supported

With Avenue Social, you will be out and about in the community, enjoying all that it has to offer, regardless of your support needs. Each activity is facilitated by our team of dedicated, passionate support workers.

Depending on your location, we may be able to offer different group sizes ranging from individual trips with a support worker to small groups to build close friendships, all the way to big social events for those who love being part of a crowd.
