Everything you need to know

This program is designed for autistic children and children with disability to enjoy at their own pace, alongside friends and family. Led by MCA artist educators, get creative with art-making activities and experience sensory-friendly artworks.

Families are welcome to drop-in from 12–3pm. For a quieter experience, priority booking is available between 10.30am–12pm, during which time numbers are capped at 50 people.

Program:

– Self-paced art-making activities supported by MCA artist educators
– Sensory and tactile experiences in the Jackson Bella Room CommissionHolding Groundby Lucy Simpson

11am, 12.30pm & 1.30pm:
– In-gallery experience with sensory-friendly artworks (galleries will be open to the public)

What to expect:

– Sunflower-trained staff and volunteers in disability confidence
– Audio-description trained staff
– Auslan trained staff
– Dedicated quieter space
– Lowered sound volumes and modified lighting inside the Level 3 Creative Studios
– Relaxed pace and flexible arrival times
– Artworks tailored to participants’ sensory needs
